Yeah isnt it funny, Paypal and Ebay are all about buyer protection, forget the seller.
I have proof of postage for every item, but as i dont send tracked i have no protection.
Some buyers on ebay are just clearly fradulent or buy with no intention of paying, what can the seller do.
Not alot.
Ebay and Paypal are all about money money money for themselves, forget the sellers who they need to make money. One day it will implode on them big time, and i cant wait haha

Hey tezza121. Don't stand for this 21 day crap. They tried it with me when by feedback profile was at around 85. I made complaint after complaint and eventually Paypal relented and stopped my account from having these holds.
As far as I'm concerned the extra security isn't nessescary - if a buyer buys something & isn't happy they can open a dispute & get their money back. Holding the sellers money does nothing but irratate the seller. There may be people who don't agree with the fact is Paypal eventually saw the light & removed my holds so they should do the same for you too.
Good luck.

You know you say you contacted Paypal (repeatedly) till they gave you your 'hold' money back? How on earth did you manage to contact them (i know you shouldnt have to contact them when you are right,, and that if they were a decent company, with any ethics, any CUSTOMER care, or any interest whatsoever in their CUSTOMERS, they would be sorting issues before u even know theres a problem) , well, I cant contact them, cos apparently i dont know my own name to sign their stupid online form, and so i cant submit a complaint. Even though my name is exactly, exactly the same as it is in the paypal receipts i get for postage. Do you have to pretend that your name is something in particular, is there a key, what is it. do you have to come onto this board instead because lets face it, we've plenty time now that WE SELLERS CANT AFFORD TO SELL ANYTHING And All We Have instead Is TIME to get on here.

You can complain via email or over the phone. Given the cost involved in phoning I recommend email via the 'contact us' section of paypal's website, choose 'contact us via email' then choose the complaint option.
Don't expect a response first time round, it took me a lot of complaints before they removed my holds.
I would post the email address for Paypal's complaint team but the forum rules forbid it. Paypal don't want to be flooded with complaints I guess.
Good luck.

mrrusty.
NEVER use paypal for collection items, there is no seller protection that way.
Also what is the point when a buyer can give you cash on collection and no fees !!

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

The 21 days hold ONLY applies if you sent the payment as send money > goods / services.
If you sent it as send money > family / friends then you 'may' get a short hold but never 21 days.

I"m seller for about 2 years, Last year a lot of sales, I'm still selling the same items have few returns and as everyone else very little disputes, out of nothing with 0 return request and 0 dispute they deiced to place hold on ALL eBay sales yet any other website sales the money coming to normal only everything from eBay is hold it does not make any sense they provide no reason and the only reason was " THE SYSTEM THINKS SOMETHING NOT RIGHT " I'm just writing out of frustration they do not consider how much money they make from my business receiving and sending money. overall the list of reasons they posting over the internet it does not mean a thing as none of the reasons apply to me or my account.
