Should be released soon.

But to chivvy them up go to contact us bottom of paypal pages > email them the transaction i,d of the payment and request release asap as it is over 21 days.

If your buyer leaves feedback normally payment is released earlier or if you have added a tracking number that proves delivery to the buyer + 3 days.

Sorry if I offend anyone but I am glad that paypal have made the decision to hold funds on new ebayers because I have just been stung twice this week to the tune of £200.00 which was to be a birthday present for my grandson. There is a lot of fake ebay sellers the faster we get rid of them the better all round for everyone else. This has really upset me & I don't have anymore money to replace what more or less has been stolen from me With the help of paypal & their decision to hold new sellers funds I just might get my money back on time for my grandsons' birthday

Hi mary have you filed a dispute for item not received via the resolution tab in  your paypal account?

Also you need to escalate it to a claim within 20 days of opening the dispute and then leave it open till you get your refund.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi I have tryed for the last 2 hours or so to escalate the dispute to a claim & i am unable to do so. Also when I go into paypal account & go to resolution centre they say I have no open cases & when I try to re-open a case it says it is invalid although i can see the open cases in ebay & still can't escalate to a claim. 1 seller has been taken of ebay because of his fraudulent usage The other member said he would refund me today & as yet has not done so. Can you please help me out as I am not getting anywhere & I need the money back to buy my grandson his birthday present

kind regards Marydoll

If you have opened a dispute on ebay you can't open another one on paypal.

You will have to let ebay sort it and as I don't know how ebay disputes work its probably best if you go to the ebay boards where there are sellers and buyers there that know how it works.

I have also recently started selling on eBay. The thing that gets me is that my first transaction, the funds were held, but the second they weren't, then the 3rd they were? Seems like PayPal are just doing it willy nilly. It annoys me that I'm being made to feel a criminal (i.e them holding money 'incase' I rip someone off) before I'm even started! I mean would you purchase something online from say Argos and at the checkout page refuse to pay until the item arrives? No, you pay first, the money clears, then you get your item and then if there's a problem you take it up with the seller after. The whole comodity of trust is long gone. When my partner starting using eBay a few years ago, the buyer would pay, she would send and then if there was a problem it would be disputed after, just like anywhere else. As others have said it seems paypal just focus on protecting the buyer, no help for the seller, afterall, the seller picks up the PayPal fee's yet we're not even allowed the common courtesy of being trusted with OUR OWN money, not paypal's, OURS. I think it's disgusting how PayPal think they have the right to just step in and temporarily seize our money with no consent what so ever. I also like how this is PayPal's forum yet none of their agents will step in and give a reasonable explanation as to why they think they have the right to hold OUR money.....

My payments have been on hold since i started selling on ebay in 2009, i dont fall into any of these categories:

  • You have been selling on eBay for less than 90 days
  • You have an eBay feedback score fewer than 100 and have not yet established a record of good performance
  • You have received fewer than 20 Detatiled Seller Ratings on eBay in the last 12 months or your eBay seller performance is below standard
  • You have a high rate of customer disputes or a low eBay feedback percentage
  • You have been a PayPal member for less than 6 months and have limited selling activity
  • You have a sudden change in selling activities (e.g. suddenly selling expensive items, selling large numbers of items, etc.)
  • You happen to be selling in a high risk category such as tickets, travel, gift vouchers, computers, electronics, mobile phones, etc.

have contacted paypal about it so many times and still they refuse to lift it, getting so fed up with it now!!
