PayPal have granted a refund for which I cannot and shouldnt do

Basically; I've sold an item on eBay for my friend, when I sold it, the item was listed as not returnable.

After a couple of weeks the buyer messaged me saying that the item was not working and they want a full refund.

After looking into the problem they described, it would appear the fault has NOTHING to do with the said iPod, but the fault is with the buyers PC.

So to try and help the buyer, I gave instructions and advice on how to fix their computer drivers to allow the iPod to work with it.

A week or so after this, they've asked for a refund through paypal, when I denied  because the buyer is not entiteled to a refund for their problem, and that the item said NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS as I simply cannot afford it.

They then went on to "escalate the case" to paypal, and paypal have deemed they are owed a refund?!

How do I get this re-checked or get a higher up to look at the case?

I will NOT be giving a refund for something that is quite simply not my problem, nor can I afford to do.

I am a student with very little money, I cannot make £95, THAT I SHOULDNT AND WONT PAY, magically appear.

Hi BradleyLind

When u list an item u are solely responsible for the listing whether it is for a friend or other

It says this before u list

Whether u stated no returns or not it stands for nothing if a dispute is opened against u

If someone opens a dispute for SNAD usually its best just to refund unless u have sufficient evidence that there isnt a faullt with the item

They would then have been asked to return the item at their own expense

If the item was listed for your friend then claim the £95 back from your friend

Your account will stay negative until u clear the refund and will be restricted from using it
