Buyer Paypal Claim after eBay Claim

Hi,

A while ago I sold an item on eBay and a few days after receiving the item opened a case on eBay claiming the item was broken.

I have eBay proof from the buyer confirming the item did work when he received it and I won the eBay case.

The buyer then opened a case with Paypal directly claiming he received a damaged item. Paypal have granted his claim and have told him to send the item back to me for a refund.

I'm looking for advice on how to handle this now. Is the buyer allowed to open a claim in both places? Shouldn't Paypal respect the decision of the eBay case?

Even if they reinvestigated they should have found that the claim is false as the buyer said himself in an eBay email that the item is working.

Thanks

Ebay and Paypal are 2 different companies with 2 separate policies for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.

So a buyer can only an Ebay AND a Paypal dispute but not at the same time.

With Paypal as they never see the item they tend to favour the buyer BUT the buyer normally has to send the item back to your first before you have to refund.

The fact the item was working when it arrived does not mean that it continued working and a buyer should be able to expect an item to work for a reasonable period of time post receipt.

A buyer can open a dispute up to 180 days post payment with Paypal.
