Hi so i sold 10 pound worth of gold from a game (on ebay) and after the trade completed, he messaged me on ebay again asking if he could buy another 10m more which i agreed to do (2 serperate trades). 30 minutes after we traded he says:

"I didn't purchase this transaction, It could be my account has just been tempered with by unknown individuals, am sorry for this. I hope you could refund asap".

Not long later (on paypal) i get this: The buyer has opened a claim stating this transaction was made without the account holder’s knowledge or consent. Please click Resolve Claim Now to view your options to resolve this issue and how to provide relevant information that will help in PayPal’s investigation.

My moneys on hold.

Heres the thing, hes opened the 2 cases on paypal): Now if i lose the case (which is most likely) will i get charged £14 pound twice coz its 2 cases?

and on the resolve the case now, if i choose the option: I have not posted the item and I will refund the payment, will i avoid these £14 charges?

I would rather refund the scammer 19 pounds than get charged £28 pound for investigation purposes.

Hi subsidel,

Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum and welcome as a new member!

Your question is very account specific and we would be unable to tell you why this has happened over a public forum. I would suggest contacting us via Facebook, Twitter, email or phone and we would be happy to advise.

Thanks - Siobhan
