Money refunded without consulting me

I sold a car which was in good working order and "Sold as seen" to a buyer who checked the car throughly and bought it. Three weeks later buyer, placed a dispute case with paypal who refunded the money to buyer without consulting me. Buyer now has the car and the money. I cannot even raise a dispute case within paypal as the trasection is classed as removed. Has anyone else faced similar issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds as if the buyer filed a chargeback directly via their card issuer.

They would not have been able to file a paypal dispute as they would have no buyer protection.

However by doing it via their card issuer its the card issuer that makes the decision and not paypal.

If the card issuer finds in favour of their client then the money is returned to them but you are not reimbursed by paypal as you have no seller protection on paypal for motor vehicles.

You should have accepted cash on collection or bank transfer only.
