PayPal and Bitdefender driving me mad

Is this only me???? My identity (bank account) was stolen so my professor husband set up bit-defender. Ever since, I've hated and loathed using PayPal (who, by the bye) ought to have someone I can COMPLAIN to instead of bending your ears. Pathetic service! At any rate, they just bounced me onto this page with 20 answers to questions I hadn't got so I'm asking you people. What happens now - and I'm blaming bit-defender, basically - is that (a) they don't accept my asking to stay logged in (b) I'm asked more than once - sometimes three times - to click 'pay' when on PayPal (c) THEN - almost always - there's no 'fine, you've paid'. Instead there's nothing. I press 'back' and nine times out of ten find myself on the merchant's page and (not joking) the merchant is brightly saying 'Yous basket is empty!'  So I go through the whole tedious nonsense again until PayPal wakes up and a little email pops up saying 'Thanks for your order!' Then I go on my way, swearing at PayPal and bit-defender both. Does this happen to anybody else?? One of you bright sparks with 95 'likes' for your supportiveness, can you shed any light on this??
