Why is Xoom asking for government ID and banking documents when I am already verified with PayPal? My transaction is being held back.

I used Xoom last week and while the question around future use was curious, I had no problem answering it. I tried to use it again today while on vacation and it seemed like the verification person (Soledad) did not believe me and kept asking the same questions. She also asked how I knew the person (fine), who I met this person (weird), and why I was giving him money (does it matter?). I felt she didn't believe my answers. Then she asked if I knew how often I'd be using Xoom in the future. She asked this numerous times like she didn't believe me. First she wanted exact dates then when I said within 7 days she said, "today is friday so you'll use it next friday?). I said yes and then she asked again like she thought I'd answer differently. I asked for her supervisor who repeated the same questions and kept saying we need this informtion for security. I said fine but felt uncomfortable when she wanted copies of personal identification and a copy of my passport. They hadn't asked for that the previous transaction. Terrible customer service and disappointing!! PayPal is ruining their reputation!!

I had a very similar issue with xoom and their representative that repeats the same questions, does not listen carefully and asks questions about consistent usage for a service that I would not use consistently, often, but not consistently.
It is unreasonable to require my identification documents be sent over email.
Paypal has always been good so I took a chance on xoom.
Paypal please fix xoom. I won't use it the way it is now.

Unusually invasive policy as well as deceptive marketing practice. No where on the Xoom site is it evident that there will bethis invasive verification process.I have been with Paypal for many years. They have my banking and credit card information. Now to request a copy of my government ID including my signature to be transmitted over the internet when many transactions have already been conducted is incomprehesible, unusually invasive and dangerous.

I had the exact same problem. My payment is being held back and I just spend about 30 minutes on the phone speaking to people who asked ridiculously invasive questions regarding my spending habits and appeared to be unwilling to accept the answers I was providing them with. I kept being asked: "but why?" and had to repeat the same story whilst providing ever more details of my life to a complete stranger in some far away country over and over again. This was an unbelievably uncomfortable experience and felt like something straight out of some sci-fi dystopia movie. Horrendous and, worst of all, ultimately to no avail. I just received a dodgy email asking me to send over a photo of my Government ID before the payment can be authorised. I am most certainly not going to do that. This was the second and last time I used this awful 'service'.

I received very phisy email by <removed>. They email requested me to reply with my government id and bank statement.
The xoom already approved my first transaction but is holding my 2nd transaction until I reply with above documents.
I feel, xoom has been compromised. The customer representative are sharing the data with spammers. The spammers have our original email id, transaction amount and verification information.
Xoom team if you are reading this msg, get in touch with me to validate the veracity of the email i received from you.
Also, asking for official document over email is not a safe way of verifying identity. I have serious concerns over using Xoom going forward and feel my bank accounts may have got compromised.

Xoom is just a scam to gather your personal information. I have spent 2 weeks trying to complete a transaction which they cancelled for no reason. I called customer service (some woman in India) THREE times whom i could barely understand. Then i answered numerous personal and strange questions that weren't really any of their business. I then submitted a copy of my photo ID and bank statement per their request, only to receive an email the next day stating that they were unable to verify my identity and my account will remain restricted.
I seriously doubt they have ever completed a money transfer for anyone.
