Shopping Website www.Eccmall.com a scam???

On a search to find a replaecment for my stolen PS3, I stumbled across the website www.eccmall.com. I noticed that their prices were considerably lower than that of other similar vendors. I still did not have the money to buy it because I am a broke college student, but my father agreed to order it for me for christmas. The first fishy thing happened when he tried to use his card instead of using paypal. Something happened and he was charged twice, once on his credit card and once on his paypal account. After discovering the mistake, he tried contacting them by their "contact us" email address Sales@eccmall.com. After doing some more looking around the website, he found a "live chat, click here" button, but all it leads to is the contact us info which includes the sales@eccmall.com email and a physical address somewhere in the UK. The address is:

This seems very fishy espically since its been 9 days since the order was placed (for two $199.99 charges) and there is no evidence that the item has been shipped and no one has attempeted to contact my father or return his emails. Even more strange is at the bottom of the page there are several icons including UPS, Google checkout, Western Union, DHL, Paypal, and Paypal Verified. The strange thing is that when you move the cursor over the payapl and paypal verified icon, it turns into the hyperlink finger, but clicking it does nothing. Nothing at all, no new window, no new tab, no URL at the bottom, no nothing. A few of the other links work, but all you need is a basic understanding of web programming to link a visa button to visa's home page. If anyone has any information that could help me, please let me know. I will advise my father to file a claim soon concerning this matter as waiting may cause further loss. I too tried to purchase a TV through this site by being directed through ebay buy now on Dec. 23. I just filed a claim today 1/4/11.

J'ai aussi acheté le Xbox 360 250go avec Kinect je me disais que cela semblait irréel a ce pris 198$ et comme je ne recevais pas de confirmation de commande ni tracking number cela m'a mis encore plus en doute.. j'ai essayé de communiquer avec eux via leurs site et directement avec hotmail mais toujours pas de réponse, pas de confirmation de commande pas de tracking number ...j'ai alors communiqué  ce matin avec Paypal qui ont mon numéro de transaction ainsi que le leur ...j'ai fais une réclamation....crime que c'est pas fort, je ne suis pas très fier de m'être ainsi laissé prendre dans cette arnaque...car je suis certaine que c'est la cas....gggrrrr!!!!

I translated your French the best I could but if you just file a claim with paypal and give them detail of your issues with the company they will solve it. I just got an email from paypal that they had received a tracking number from eccmall but they finally made a decision and are in my favor. The issue has been resolved and Pay pal was very helpful, I even spoke on the phone with them and they were very kind and prompt to help me. Just file a claim provide as much information as possible and they will resolve the problem.

I filed a claim with PayPal last week and still haven't heard back from anyone, how long does it usually take for them to respond?

If you filed a dispute, nothing really happens, your just waiting for a response from the seller, if you filed a claim, you give paypal all the info necessary and then pay pal should show you the claim on a special page in the resolution center. It tells you what process your claim is going through. They are probably looking over the case and then they go ahead and start the claim and give the seller 10 days to respond, theres a date they tell you that the seller has to respond by and if the seller doesnt respond by the the money is sent to back to where it came from. If the buyer does respond the case is escalated and takes longer. If anything you can contact and talk to a live representative. I just went to the "contact us" page and called and they were very helpful and prompt. They can definitely answer much more of the questions than we can.. but paypal closed my case and resolved the matter. so all in all eccmall.com is a total scam and you should definitely start a dispute or claim asap so you can get your money back.

Well I wish I read these boards before buying two items from uutmall.com as I seen in one of the last posts that eccmall and uutmall are one in the same. I opened cases in the resolution center just because it was looking fishy that my items were still in processing stage and every help link turned up coming back in email as permanently failed. I immediately escalated the cases to claims after reading this thread and another one on fatwallet.com. Hopefully paypal will take action on these scammers.
