Outlook Issue

I received an email and when I try to open the email is locks up my outlook and then opens a window with the following "\\102.112.207.net\6\ss\PAYPALGLOBAL\1\G.4-NS". this will keep happening until I am able to click off the email.

Any ideas as to what is going on.

Fix did not work for me, maybe I am doing something wrong. If someone has had success with this fix, can you post  a more detail instructions on how to get this done. The file that it states to look for is not there, I don't think I created the file in the right place.

Someone please help, this is driving me insane and PayPal still has not fixed the problem.

Thank you

Certain flavours of windows 7 ignores the default HOSTS file.  You have to copy the contents of the original file, delete the file from disk and then paste the contents into a new version.  For all of this you need to run notepad/cmd as administrator.

This worked for me. Just one note to add: be sure the "hosts" file is named just "hosts" with no extension like .txt or anything else (no quotes either).

Here is a fix....   The problem is a mis-formatted cookie call...

Adding this line to your hosts file will give relief...

the user "bachi_shop" came up with this fix....

cheers, mark g

I want to thank PayPal for getting this issue fixed. I have been testing all day and the issue has been resolved. Obviously the older emails that didn't load will NEVER load quickly once the line is removed from the HOSTS file. (NOTE: if you need to access these older files then you need to wait for the system timeout OR put the line back into your hosts file).

While there were many unproductive comments here in the forum, for those of us that realize that sometimes systems have problems, we thank you for getting us back up and running normally.  Speaking for myself, I realize that sometimes a bug is missed and I am glad it was able to be located and repaired.  Response time could have been better, I am sure PayPal realizes that.

Once again, I have removed the HOSTS file line (workaround)... And all NEW payment notices are working properly in Outlook.

Cheers, MarcoGee
