Yep but all you have to do is go to the safety centre which is the first place you should visit when you join and click on buyer protection or seller protection.

I did and 12 years later never had any problems.

You sometimes have to take responsilbility for your transactions yourself and not always rely on being bailed out.

Goodl luck with the small claims.

your having a laugh!      kernowlass?

have you checked the safety centre?

anything about complaining to the financial ombudsman about paypal?

anything about suing paypal through the courts?

anything about complaining to the european consumer centre?

why did paypal lie to me through ebay?here is the important part of the  message i recieved.

Should you want to take this matter further, you can either contact the police or pursue a claim through a civil court.

- Contact your local police

If you do decide to contact your local police, we'd be happy to help with the investigation if needed - police officers can email us by following this link and then clicking on Law Enforcement (to be used only by the reporting officer):

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/

- Pursue your complaint through a civil court

If you wish to pursue this as a civil matter, your solicitor can contact us for information at the following address:

did you read my last message?incase you did not here is part of it,which confirms paypals lies.

  • paypals terms and conditions.
  • Where we cannot resolve a dispute, a User may either complain to the UK Financial Ombudsman Service following completion of our internal dispute resolution process or sue us in the courts of England and Wales (or your local Court if you are a consumer). You may also complain to the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net). You may obtain further information regarding the ECC-Net and how to contact them at (http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/redress_cons/) You may access and obtain information regarding the Financial Ombudsman Service at http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk. You may also refer an unresolved dispute in writing to our regulator, the CSSF at the following postal address: Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) 110, Route d’Arlon L-2991 Luxembourg
  • did you read it this time?
  • why does the email say i have to use a solicitor?

you need to take the blinkers off

going by your replies i assume you work for paypal.

anybody want to buy a car?its a catagory b(scrap)bought it on ebay but it was not adverised as this.

just had a thought there kernolass.if you have been with paypal for twelve years perhaps you could be entitled to some money.

paypal were sued through the courts in 2004 and settled on paying out $9.2 million, part of which was shared amongst members of paypal who had wrongdoing done to them by paypal.perhaps you may be due some of that money.

maybe you have already claimed it?

do a google search, there are plenty claims against paypal on it.

Paypal provide the protection that they state they provide. That doesn't mean that their protection is 'inadequate', it's adequate for doing exactly what it's intended to do. If you want to be protected for the sales of vehicles, use a method where the intermediary company offers seller protection for vehicles.

I feel dumb for saying that, but Paypal hasn't done anything wrong.

this is unbeleivable, ebay have removed my negative feedback.

and no there were no abusive remarks in it.

in reply to the comment, paypal has not done anything wrong here is a part of an email they sent me.

The part in bold is a blatant lie.

there is a lot of people on here that seem to be well informed as to paypals rules, policies, terms and conditions, etc and they will be aware that an individual and not just a solicitor can contact this address regarding information on the sellers address.

Why cant the just give this information so that i can open a small claims?

The removal of the negative feedback has got my blood boiling on something that i had given up on due to cost and the usual runaround you get from companies like this.

Thanks to ebay this has now got me contacting the people i should have been complaining to in the first place.Man Tongue

@Wahid2

You can file a small claims court action online if the amount is under £10,000.

Info in here >

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/law-and-courts/legal-system/taking-legal-action/small-claims/small...

Get some advice first though as not sure how you could win as you agreed to the hold when you agreed to the user agreement when you opened your paypal account, and the user agreement has been legally agreed by the FSA in the UK.

OR

you can make a complaint >> from the user agreement >>

14.2 ECC-Net, Financial Ombudsman Service and CSSF. If you have a complaint to make about us, you may choose to escalate it by contacting one of the following:

  1. European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net). You may obtain further information regarding the ECC-Net and how to contact them at (http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/redress_cons/).
  2. UK Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). For UK resident Users only - the FOS is a free, independent service which might be able to settle a complaint between you and us. You may obtain further information regarding the FOS and contact the FOS at http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
  3. Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). The CSSF is the authority responsible for the prudential supervision of companies in the financial sector in Luxembourg. You can contact the CSSF at 283 Route d’Arlon, L-1150 Luxembourg. You may obtain further information regarding the CSSF and how to contact them at: http://www.cssf.lu.

I am an event coordinator and planner. I am not able to provide shipping info because I'm selling services. I'm not sending anything. They ruled against me after I sent all the proof and now telling me can appeal by giving the shipping info. It's so obvious that it's no real people dealing with this. All automatic service and they took $500 from me! I am furious and I want my money back!!
