On 13th February an unauthorised transaction was made from my account. £386 was transferred out of my account using the 'Friends and Family' payment method. I did not allow anyone to access my account or give anyone my device.
I opened a dispute, but this was closed by PayPal as they say the 'DeviceID' that initiated the transfer is one I have used regularly in the pass.
The case remains closed, despite 4 phone calls and supplying a crime reference number.
Does anyone have experience of fighting this case? Any ideas on how I can prove it wasn't physically me on one of my devices? I guess the hacker has either remotely accessed one of my devices or has spoofed the DeviceID somehow.
At the moment, my PayPal account has a negative balance and the case will be passed to debt collection agency.
