Hi, I agreed with seller to buy the laptop they were selling for £350 on eBay. They sent an invoice which I paid immediately. I was told the laptop would be posted the next day on the 15th Nov. No laptop arrived after 2 weeks. Messages I sent on eBay to seller about tracking details and that I had not received the laptop have not been responded to. I tried multiple time to send an email to the address they had supplied paypal with but as soon as I send it it comes back saying account does not exist anymore leaving me no other way to contact them. This makes me suspicious.
I setup a claim with paypal for a refund. This is the first time I have had to file a claim and I'm a bit worried whether I have filled it out correctly or not. My claim is being reviewed by Paypal with the message "A claims specialist is reviewing your case." Below is the case history...
- 30 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Case under review
- 27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Seller provided proof of postage
- 27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Email sent to seller
- 27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Email sent to buyer
- 27 Nov 2010 - Buyer: Dispute escalated to claim
- 27 Nov 2010 - Buyer: Dispute filed
- 27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Email sent to seller
- 27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Email sent to buyer
- 27 Nov 2010 - Buyer: Dispute filed
The problem is is where it says "27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Seller provided proof of postage". At the top of the screen when I posted the claim it was asking me to "complete the following action" with a pink background, there was nothing indicating what I should do and not understanding I clicked "respond", it was then that the "27 Nov 2010 - PayPal: Seller provided proof of postage" appeared. They may have responded immediatley but considering the timing I doubt it. Have I voided or created a problem with my claim? Also would the proof of postage be visable to me on the Claims details screen if they had posted proof?
Why would paypal give me the option to respond to something that only the other party should have access to? It would be nice if paypal could make this a bit more simple as it seems rather confusing at present.
Any help would be hugely appreciated as I'm worried sick at losing a lot of money.

That's all good. The tracking info the seller has supplied cant possibly be valid as you've not received or signed for the laptop so the decision will go in your favor
