RIDICULOUS AND FUTILE "APPEALS" PROCESS

Fellow sellers. Consider this scenario and please let me know your thoughts.

\

A buyer buys two identical items from you within a week. The first item is $ 100.00; the second was $ 125.00.

The items are glass candy jars, each with 4 separate components. Both jars are shipped USPS insured mail.

Buyer receives first jar and informs that base is broken and despite my providing the documents to them for submitting reimbursement claim to the Post Office, puts in PAYPAL claim form "ITEM RECEIVED NOT AS DESCRIBED" .

Buyers file contact information is incorrect..Invalid  telephone number. Moreover buyer does not reply you my repeated inquiries as to why they did not take this matter up with the Post Office.  I also make several phone calls to PAYPAL and it seems like no one has a clue as to how this is to be handles.

One representative assured me that "buyers almost never return the items so you have nothing to worry about." In this case, he was wrong.

The amount of the claim is $ 125.00'; the amount of the SECOND jar, which was not even delivered at the time.

PAYPAL 'reviews the case' and finds in favor if buyer, and  has buyer return the item to me in broken condition, Naturally, buyer cannot send the item back insured because the jar is already broken.

I receive the item and now the BASE AND LID are broken. I appeal the chargeback because the item is even worse now because MULTIPLE COMPONENTS are now shattered.

PAYPAL responds by saying that ALL CLAIMS FOUND IN FAVOR OF BUYER FOR ITEMS NOT AS DESCRIBED CANNOT BE APPEALED>

Is this horse**bleep** or what?????

This is not the first time I (as a seller) have been **bleep**ed over by bad decisions made by people who have control over  my money . As a result I am systematically and methodically withdrawing all funds from my account and will leave only a minimum balance in the future. If I could, I would opt out of using PAYPAL altogether.

Am I alone in this?

Thanks and happy Holidays.

It is just what I would expect. And try responding to that form letter you received stating they voted in the buyers favor.  Explain in the most clear detail, lay it out for them at a 6th grade level, you will get the same form letter with a different name at the bottom.  AND don't forget!  With Ebays new policy, you are really **bleep**ed when you receive a 'not as described' even when it is so black and white that the item is 'not as described' because it broke!  AND THINK about this...there are not to many choses for the buyer to check, and they are forced to check something, 'not as described' will always be the buyers chose!  And it is Ebays chose to use the selection for taking a seller down!  Please, there is a reason for this policy!  In the long (and short) run, it benefits Ebay financially!  They will freeze your money before you can get it out, trust me!  For them to hold your money using the excuse of receiving 'not as described' makes mucho interest when you multiply it by thousands, millions per day!  And I predict that a large mega seller does not have these rules and money holds forced upon them!  We are too small for Ebay to give a ***!  They figure if they have to deal with the little seller, it is easier and more feasible to just hold money captive, get the interest, and at the same time maybe be rid of the smaller seller!  If they had only big sellers, they would not have to wast time, money and energy on employees, issues (they don't anyway!!)  They want to keep buyers, and have larger more powerful sellers.  Why else would they abuse us so much?

I am going to post a letter I just wrote to ebay & paypal.  Let you know the **bleep** they have put me through. Why dont you try Hmmm how to say this....  store follows the word web.  It is free to sellers and buyers.  Even a store is free.  Ebay does not want us anyway. They don't want us anyway so they should not care even if i tried to say it in code.

I think I will title my letter I am now going to post 'Ebay & Paypal burned my Christmas'

To OP: You're phlocked. Case closed. Period. Bad guys win.

I have people on my website (on which I accept MC/Visa/Disc) ask me if they can

paypal me for my items onsite that have nothing whatsoever to do with either ebay or paypal

They have everyone thinking paypal everything everywhere! And that's dangerous

I had just the opposite thing happen to me today: Korean buyer buys and pays for item.

10 minutes later Paypal puts a hold on funds (still havent figured out why)

I call paypal and ask them what's going on, they say just reinvoice buyer

and first charge will automatically "purge" itself since no money was transferred.

Bullphlockingslop! It purged itself all right....

Today I get notice charge reversed and buyer has paid me twice for same item, and he is peeeeooooooed...now I lose buyer business because he thinks I'm trying to chg him twice when

what ACTUALLY happened was I listened to paypal rep who, as usual, did not know deeock about what she was talking about. You can just hear the audible groans whenever anyone files a dispute about anything. If you're a seller there goes your money. "On Hold" ad infinitum. My conclusions as a seller:

1. Do not believe anything a cust serv rep tells you over phone w/o documentation.

2. Take no action offered by such rep

3. Trust no one, especially no one associated with ebay or paypal.

4. Use mouse click with extreme caution when on either website.

5. Tell yahoo to get back in auction business. They will have clients guaranteed.

6. Grab newspaper and head for bathroom. All you can do for now.

As a buyer: Do your utmost to close a deal outside of ebay or paypal.

This kind of "buyer protection" I do not need nor want.

Go to Sears/Walmart/etc ad nauseum and harass the clerk until they price match to your liking

Have Fun...And Good Luck

Stay Thirsty My Friends...LOL

Sold an item to buyer. Buyer paid thru Paypal. I created shipping label thru Paypal and had post office pick up and ship package.  Buyer says he has not received item and tracking # with the PO has had same message for a week. Buyer emailed me twice and I responded within a couple of hours. It's Christmas, perhaps the PO is behind in updating their tracking info. Christmas eve Buyer opens dispute. PayPal freezes 279.00 and closes case Christmas day and is refunding the money to the buyer. How can they investigate in less than 24 hours and is refunding  my money to the buyer without looking at my records that prove I shipped the item. The PO won't look for package until 30 days have passed. Package could be delayed in customs and how is that my fault? Meanwhile PayPal is holding the funds and collecting interest with it. Interesting. I am out the money & the item. Sellers, do not ship outside the US or you will get burned. Ebay says it is the sellers responsibility to get the item to the buyer . I was told by eBay that we sellers can not charge the buyer for insurance or we can lose our selling rights    My PayPal account is now in the negative, anyone know if they can remove fees from my bank account to recover what they call their money?
