Anyone experience something like this before...
I live in Phoenix and had a charge at a gas station in Northridge CA go through on my paypal debit card fraudulently. I caught the transaction the next day. Called paypal filed a claim and my account was locked up no money could come out which I wasn't told they would do that on the phone which is rather discontenting.. To unlock my account I had to send them proof of who I was through a few means. Once that was finished my account was unlocked so at this point everything is looking to be good. Later that week I get an email from paypal stating that my claim has been dined... It was for $107.89 at a chevron in Northridge CA which I've never been to and what's most interesting is that I had purchased with that same card some lunch right down the road from my business here in Phoenix about an hour before the fraudulent charge went through. So apparently Paypal's thorough investigation couldn't connect the dots that there is no way that I could have beamed myself from Phoenix to Northridge CA for a debit signature purchase... So now I'm out $107 and scratching my head thinking does this happen to anyone else out there. At this point I'm going to blog about it and see what other forums I can find any experiences that are in the ballpark of my experience. I have been a very happy paypal customer but, this is rather ridiculous to say the least.

This is a common practice of credit card fraud. A telamarketer will keep your card numbers and scan them into another card, us them where ever they do not need to sign or show I.D. eg. at a gas pump. You have a right to disput any charge on your card. show proof why you didn't make the charge, and a hold should be place on that charge, & that charge alone, until the matter is resolved. If they refuse to reverse the charges, small claims or write your attorney General, or the U.S. Banking Commission. They take these cases very seriously, and would love to take on a big company refusing to obay the laws of the U.S. Think about it !!!!

Ugghh, thats what I was thinking I was going to do. Essentially I've already disputed the charge and gotten no where with them. I guess its time to go to small claims what a pain. Thx for the reply.
