I am so upset with the way people can be crooks and liars and PayPal allows this type of buyer.
Quick synopsis: I posted a 14k/sterling bracelet with 3 blue topaz stones. I took numerous pictures and described the item. It took several emails to finally get the buyer to pay. I shipped immediately. The buyer returned the item the same day, and filed a dispute with Paypal saying that the item was "significantly different than discribed" (note: this person obviously knew that was all they had to do to get their money). It was exactly as described. I explained all this to Paypal and ask that they view the pictures.
I sell personal, family items. I am not a proffessional photographer either. I take pictures just like the average "Joe".
PayPal agreed with the buyer ????? How can they do that when they never saw the bracelet. I did take additional pictures and sent those to PayPal.
How can they do this legally???? With no reasoning as to why they think that buyer was honest. This person should not be allowed to purchase on Ebay!!!
Thanks for letting me vent!!
Can I file a claim against this person now?

Well this is unfortunate to hear. I just had a dishonest buyer file a dispute for "significantly not as described". The item was brand new SEALED IN A BOX. He is demanding $10 back! (not a large amount, but 15% off of the purchase price and its the principle) It would cost me more in shipping so im forced to submit.
Ive been upset all day as this is my first dispute and reading all I can on this website. It looks like if you other honest sellers have been shafted, I have no chance. This **bleep**, so all a buyer has to do is claim "significantly not as described" and demand a 15% discount? What is to stop people doing this over and over? So everybody just gets a 15% discount now?
I dont have enough money in my paypal to cover it and am negative now. Will they take money from my real bank account?
Too bad im honest and would actually feel BAD for runing a scam like that... There are lots of things I would like to have a 15% discount on...

robsfamily5.... I don't think any person should be able to start a not-as-described dispute if the item had pictures!
Misleading (or lying) text is the only reason I think not-as-described disputes can happen. PayPal dropped the ball on that one though. Maybe the buyer should be required to take pictures of their received item, so the PayPal CS that reviews the dispute can actually compare the images.
