How long must I wait for Paypal to resolve a dispute?

I sold an item on EBay, shipped it using USPS though my ad stated I would ship UPS. My buyer went ballistic, filed a claim with Paypal to hold the funds. I responded with the tracking number. The package was delivered last friday and when I review the open dispute it still says "paypal is reviewing". So I assume eventually Paypal will get off their **bleep** and see that it's been a week since I provided them with the proof of delivery and that they need to resolve this dispute once and for all. My question is, after I have posted 3 notes over the past week to be sent to Paypal to help them resolve the dispute I am not getting any sign that there is life at Paypal and that they are doing a **bleep** thing except holding my money and letting my buyer keep his item for free. We're talking $200 here and I need the money. How can I get Paypal's attention to let them know they need to do something to resolve this??

So much for Paypal's seller protection.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Call them by phone. I have found they will contine to ignore emails. Your buyer sounds like an idiot and should realize how lucky he is that you didn't ship the item UPS, at least if you ship USPS it has a **bleep** of a lot better chance of arriving in on piece , not pieces like it would with UPS "crack" crew.UPS is terrible and getting worse all the time, if people would stop using them maybe they would get the point, the cost me ten thousand dollars in destroyed merchadise last year, not damaged, destroyed beyond repair, destroyed like they worked very hard at doing it, much harder that they work at their REAL job's. FedEx makes their drivers pay for damged good's, which while I don't think that's fair either, soeone need's to hold the warehouse workers accountable. I had evidenc in the form of boot print's on boxes , anything marked fragile was like putting a target on the box. Now I will neither ship or accept shipments from UPS, there is a reason they can be the cheapest and as long as people use them based on that reason alone, they will continue to destroy merchandise, some of it irreplaceable.

I certainly don't have a problem with carrying a Pay-Pal balance, I actually carry a pretty hefty balance almost all the time.  It's kind of a slush fund if you will, that I can access readily.

On disputes, it's all about documentation on your part.  I just went through a chargeback scenario.  My customer claimed they didn't receive the product and initiated a chargeback through their credit card.  Pay-Pal in kind, held the funds from my balance and initiated the chargeback procedure.....

Because I use Pay-Pal as a payment vehicle for my .com website and I ship USPS or UPS (if ORM D), I always send products to NEW customers, Signature Required on delivery or UPS Signature Requited, exactly what I did with the chargeback customer.  I DID NOT contact the customer directly as I had the signature conformation e-mail from USPS (I have an online account with USPS and UPS.

Within 30 days of my submission of the relevant documents to Pay-Pal via E-mail, the chargeback was denied.

Because I sell worldwide, I also take payments via bank checks and exchange instruments.  Not all my payments come through Pay-Pal, though the bulk do.

If you decide to take checks and drafts as instruments of payment, be sure to set up a commercial account and make doubly sure they clear prior to shipment.  I state that right on my website and I also levy 6% sales tax for in state purchases.

Comparing portals (and I did), Pay-Pal is the most secure and across the board, their fees are in the middle of the pack.

I've considered a credit card portal (through Pay-Pal but because I can take checks and drafts for direct  deposit or postal money orders and occasionally CASH, I have no need for a CC portal or the related fees.

If you decide to actually initiate a .com site, be sure it looks and operates professionally and apply due dilligence when pricing your products.  I actually have a professional IT that manages my site.  It's better to pay someone for a service than wing it and blunder.  Remember, all the world can see your amateur efforts.

Hope that helps some folks.

I've been playing the .com game for a while now.  It's fun, makes some serious money and keeps me out of my wife's hair.......lol

My question is, did you do a direct payment from your PP account or did you use a charge card?  If it's a charge card (including the Pay-Pal Charge Card), initiate a chargeback.

I literally bend over backward for all my customers, including free replacement if necessary.  Internet assisination is a terrible way for any enterprise to die.....

I ordered business cards and business magnets...I got my order.  I opened the box, the magnets were fine but the business cards were all blank.  Blank... nothing on them at all.  Paypal ruled against me in the resolution center.  That was so terrible.  How am I expected to pay for blank cards?   I feel that justice was definitely not served.  I wanted to send them "OVERNIGHT PRINTING" back their cards for a refund.  Surely they can reuse BLANK cards...... unbelievable... truly sad
