Customer claims having paid, but I can't find it!

One of my customers paid for her item, but not the international shipping. I sent an invoice via Pay Pal, but have not seen a payment on it. The customer claims she sent the money to one of the email addresses associated with our account, but I can't find it. How do I proceed from here?
