[urgent] Brother created account in my name and sent someone money from my bank.

Long story short my younger brother (13) has gone and made an account with all my details. I’m only 16, I allow him to use my phone regularly and he has his fingerprint ID on there, and I have my banking app on there which uses fingerprint ID. He’s used this to get my details, lied about my age and proceeded to add someone as family on here somehow and send them money. Paypal for some reason has bounced my claim and I don’t know what to do? I’ve asked the seller for my money back and they’ve refused my request through Paypal. Is there anythinf I can do?

Christ! Scared of kids running amok on this technology. 🙂 All kidding aside...don't let your kid brother use your phone, no more. Remove his fingerprint ID and change your passwords. Since the transactions did come from your account PayPal won't consider these unauthorized transactions as your kid bro did have access to your phone doing things he's not supposed to. Let this be a lesson in responsibility. Gosh 13 years old and able to do all this? Wow.

Even if I wasn’t the one who set this account up? Would I be able to take it up with my bank? £100 is essentially all my Christmas money and I need to do anything to get that back

Did you tell PayPal that you did not set this account up? And did you tell them you are under age? It's a tough call because you ultimately gave your bro access to your phone. I would try your bank though and see what they say. They probably want to talk to your parents. I bet PayPal heard all kinds of stories and they would be broke by now if they protected everyone. This something you need to take up with your parents and have them punish your brother for.
