so basically, i accidentally opened this account as a business account. first mistake. second mistake is that i made this account as a minor. i was given a payment of 413 dollars, and i never accepted the money. later the dude opened a dispute for a refund, so i refunded it. it says it came out of my bank but the 400 dollars is still able to be collected. i cant accept the payment because i don’t have an id and i’m a minor and my account has been put under review. am i gonna get charged 400?

Yes, your bank will be charged for the refund.

Even if you opened a personal account, it can suffer the same fate because you’re a minor. Minors cannot open a PayPal or enter into agreements.

Your best bet is to contact customer service to admit you’re a minor and make any arrangements with PayPal you can make to try to accept/claim the money somehow or worst case scenario, payment gets returned to sender unacceptable/unclaimed after 30 days, standard procedure. They’ll ban the account since it was opened while underage. Check the payment details to see if there’s a deadline for accepting the payment or it gets returned unclaimed. If the refund went through successfully, make sure you indicate that you refunded the buyer so they should release the unaccepted funds into your balance let you withdraw it.

  1. https://www.paypal.com/smarthelp/contact-us
  2. Click Disputes and account limitations.
  3. Click Account limitations.
  4. Click Check the status of a limitation.
  5. Click Call Us after “This information might help” box.

Good luck.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
