SCAM - Chinese sellers advertising products but sending wrong items and using paypal to cheat people

I ordered a product through advert on facebook from Chinese seller and paid for i using paypal. The item I actually ordered did not arrive but instead, cheap alternative items arrived that have no connection with what was originally ordered.

My order was for a 4 wheel trolley for 19.99 USD with postage and what actually arrived was two plastic bags to put shoes in ..!

This is a scam and I am asking why paypal are allowing these companies to use paypal services ?

I raised a dispute with paypal and asked for a full refund and the paypal responed that the seller would give me a refund if i first returned the item (shoe bags) at my own expense...!. This is ridicules because they want me to pay even more money out to ship the item back to china.

Because the seller has said they will refund me (but only if i return the item that i never even ordered in the first place) paypal do not give me any facilitity in the resolution centre to give any further feedback.

The whole situation is very bad PR for paypal.

Does anyone know how I can get paypal to give me my money back since they advertise that paying with paypal gives me buyer protection but i dont see that paypal are protecting me at all.

Having the same issue. Paypal Resolution Center is garbage at best, there is no way to keep adding evidence or really do anything. Paypal is incompetent at resolving or protecting its clients. I would not recommend anybody use paypal, Amazon all the way, no questions asked free returns no BS. I will never trust Paypal again.

I provided a photo of their ad showing item is not the same. Also a photo of their ad showing 100% money back refund for any reason. I filed a dispute then PayPal stated that there would be only communication with seller through the dispute section. NO these people are continuing to privately email me and insisting I only take $16 for what I paid $40.

I do not know how this will end up but if PayPal does not get me my refund I will close my account and not use it again.

if they can not back their customers then why use them?
