Recent Email stating my account has been limited

I was sent an email stating my account has been limited for a violation of Acceptable Use Policy. I would like clarification for this as nothing I have purchased nor anyone i have sent money to as a gift, would be classified under this policy. Is the email a fraud attempt or scam?

When you log on, are there any notifications/alerts that confirm this limitation? If so, it could have been a misunderstanding or a false positive by PayPal's security system. If not, then it could be spam/spoof.

Otherwise, reach out to customer service to discuss misunderstanding/false positive decision:

(Please be patient as response time will be longer due to reduced staff/closed phone lines.)

  1. Log on.
  2. Click HELP at the top menu.
  3. Scroll down and click CONTACT US.
  4. Scroll down to click MESSAGE US or other contact options.
