I have been scammed and need assistance

Back in July I sold an expensive piece of clothing via eBay. On selling the item the buyer messaged me asking me to post to a different address. I was sceptical at first but he insisted it was for his friends birthday and would be extremely grateful for this. I agreed, thinking I would get the hassle free sale and all I had to do was post the item. He started a dispute, he won the dispute through a chargeback through his credit card company which has left my PayPal account in quite a lot of debt and PayPal saying they can do nothing about this. I find this farcical, I have all relevant evidence to show he had asked me to post to a different address. I have tracking number showing the item was clearly delivered to this address, and I have multiple messages of him assuring me it was all fine to post to this address. Where do I stand with this? It took PayPal long enough to investigate it and then they tell me there’s nothing they can do. Surely I am covered some how? Otherwise this scam is far too easy for anyone to pull off!!

Paypals Buyer Protection only exists in the nice words on their website. The internet is full of complaints about Paypal. Paypal doesnt even look into my messages and just closes disputes.

Today Paypal gave me a full refund of 43,75 USD of my claim / dispute against Homekasba. I could not reach them at first in the message center. But I waited for two weeks, in the mean time i contacted them via twitter via @askpaypal. Via @askpaypal they did reply. i explained i opened the wrong disputed the unauthorised transaction. They replied they let a specialist look into the matter. After that i also contacted them via the message center. And they did change my dispute from closed to opened dispute. They changed the reseason for the disputed to order (product) not received. And they contacted the seller (i dont think the seller replied in time). On the end of the time that the seller could have reacted I received back my money.
