What will happen in this scenario if account is still in the 180 day hold phase? Will the direct deposit get held in the account or will it get rejected?

Hello @emohio,
That's a great question. This situation would depend on the type of limitation. If the limitation prevents you from receiving money, then the direct deposit would reject. For further assistance, I would suggest you contact us to provide additional details. To contact customer service, please click “Contact” at the bottom of the PayPal website for available options, or reach out by Facebook or Twitter. I hope this helps.
Thanks!
