Chakros.com scam?

I purchased an item on the Chakros.com website but when I got the PayPal receipt it had Chinese characters and a weird seller name not related to the website. I still haven’t received a receipt from the seller and feel this is a scam.

Just got an email saying the case was resolved in my favor and I’m getting a refund. From my experience, I’d say file with PayPal to CYA but also do what you think is needed with the bank/credit card co. I stayed online and chatted with online reps enough so they could document my account and issue, I also told them about the wrong tracking ID from UPS and how they were willing to talk to PayPal to confirm the tracking ID was not to my address or name. I guess I’m at a “ forgiven but not forgotten” state with PayPal. But also, lesson learnt and a lot more vigilant when it comes to shopping on the internet.

We ordered a metal frame pool with nothing on the site saying it was coming from China. I’m worried it was a scam or that it will take 2 mo the to get here.

When did you order your metal pool frame? The address on the website says Philadelphia but all of a sudden Chinese? Atleast legit Chinese merchants say they’re in China. I emailed the seller as PayPal said I should and no reply. No receipt, no confirmation email, nothing!! I’m sorry it happened to you and all the others that replied to the thread.

I fell for this this morning. I ordered a wood fire pit from them. I looked things over a few times before agreeing the payment via PayPal. Came home from work and have not received any type of email from the company regarding the order. Go to look at the website and its gone. All the pages I had opened to it are dead and when I search then via google, now. It takes me to a Chakros jewelry website. I dont know if I was just that used to everything being ok via PayPal that I didnt notice the China seller or that happened after the transaction was made. I think I will be out $90. Emailed the seller no response. Fingers crossed for PayPal to come through or the product actually shows up.

It is 100% a scam. You should dispute ASAP. Just wait. Within 72 hours “Chakros.com” will vanish and become another web site. One of the key giveaways is that the items are WAY cheaper than anywhere else. I just saw a children’s pool on there for $98 that is at least $1,000 on every other site. I just came across this post when I googled “chakros scam” and your description confirmed my suspicions—I fell for a similar scam once on “Mandogo.com” (which was advertised on Facebook!!!!) where they were selling car seats for $120 that are normally $300+.

I suggest taking as many screen shots as you can as evidence. Including putting the item in your cart again and screen shorting the “total” including shipping, taxes, etc. In my case I paid with my debit card and never got a refund because I had no proof. 😞

Yep, I screen shot everything I could. Started my review with PayPal. After about 40 minutes of searching again and again I found a working page for Charkos. The phone number is a dummy number that gives off a busy sound for 3 or 4 seconds and hangs up on you. Also tried the email <removed> email with no response. I guess that $65 discount, made me that blind to all the red flags this morning.

I too fell for the scam. Around May 28th I purchased a bicycle trailer from that website. I immediately felt like I was probably being scammed. So I contacted PayPal and they would not intervene, even though the transaction was only pending. Then, today, I received a tracking number. I don't know how they did it, but they provided a tracking number from May 7th showing an item delivered to my house on May 14th! I didn't even order the item until May 28th!

Same thing happened to me. Ordered a bike trailer & they attached a tracking saying delivered days before my actual order.... Scammers!
