Unknown transaction, only shows on bank statement

i checked my statement online yesterday and it show a purchace of £77 and says PayPal next to it, but there is no transactions on my paypay that total to $77, i didnt even buy anything using paypal? what could this be?

Is it possible that someone has used your card to make a debit card payment on a one off basis with PayPal? You can make debit card payments without signing into your PayPal account. If you are disputing the transaction as unauthorised contact your card issuer, they should be able to help you.

Hi SKITTz,

 

If you have noticed a payment on your PayPal account that you are unaware of may I suggest that you follow the steps below to ensure that it is reported correctly.

 

If you are able to log in to your account:
1. Log in to your account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click 'Resolution Centre' at the top of your Account Overview page.
3. Click the orange ‘Dispute a Transaction’ button.
4. Select 'Unauthorised transaction' and click 'Continue'.
5. The following screen is for reporting the transaction IDs of any unauthorised payments that may have occurred, if there were none please click ‘Continue’.
6. Complete the form and click ‘Continue’.
7. Confirm that the data is correct and click ‘Submit’.

If you are unable to log in to your account:

1. Visit www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click 'Safety Advice' near the top of the page.
3. Click 'issue with my account' in the middle of the page.

4. Click 'Someone else is using my account'.
5. Click 'Continue' under 'Unable to log in?'
6. Read the information and click 'Continue' at the bottom of the page.
7. Complete the report and click 'Preview'.
8. Check the box to accept the claim is accurate and click 'Submit'.
9. Confirm your account ownership by entering the financial information requested, and click 'Continue'.
