Hello wonder if anyone can help?
I bought an item on ebay and paid via paypal, I have the recipe and confirmation email from ebay saying I have paid, however under 'payment status' on my paypal account it says 'unclaimed'. I have emailed the seller and he says that there has been no payment, it also says on my paypal account has the recipient of the payment is unregistered?
Any ideas?
Cheers 🙂

Hi there paddydrum64,
If the status of your payment is 'Unclaimed', the recipient has either not accepted or not received this payment.
There are several possible reasons why this payment is 'Unclaimed':
1. Recipient has not yet opened a PayPal Account.
2. Recipient has not confirmed their email address.
3. Recipient has not registered the same email address to their PayPal account that you have sent the payment to.
4. The recipient has not chosen to accept or refuse the payment.
5. The recipient’s email address was entered incorrectly when payment was sent.
We recommend communicating with the other party involved, as this is often the quickest way to resolve this situation.

Hi,
I have sold 7 items in the last couple of days. Payment for two items has come through successfully, but the other five buyers have apparently 'paid' (ie the money has left their account) but its not appeared in my paypal account. They get the message that either its 'unclaimed' or 'pending'.
My paypal account has been runing successfully (making and recieving payments) for months now; none of my details have changed and i've not had a problem before.
There is nothing i can see that i can do to 'accept' these payments as they are not showing up at all on my account. I dont need to activate my email account as it is already activated (and is the same account i've always used).
Please help!

Hi there lady_rolands,
You will need to check the email address that was used in your eBay listing:
- Find the item you sold and click 'Sell a similar item' under 'More Actions'.
- Go to the section 'Decide how you'd like to be paid', which displays the email address where the payment was sent.

Yes the capital letter does make a difference.
If you are sending a request for money and still linking it to that ebay auction then it will fail again.

Hi,
I have this problem too!
I'm waiting for a payment to come through and when I emailed the buyer he has sent me the transaction code and details etc but it says that it is currently 'unclaimed' I have nothing showing on my account for accepting the money? the email address is correct (it is all lower case as should be).
I've never had this problem before and we're at a loss as to how to solve this now! We're both running out of patience and I dont want to lose this sale!

Hi there Star87,
Is this email address active and confirmed on your PayPal account?
If so then I would ask your buyer to contact us & we can help them make this payment.
Please let us know how you get on.

Is there a cancel option next to unclaimed?
If there is then cancel it but it will take a few days for the payment to go back to your funding source.
If there is not then you can't cancel and will have to wait 30 days for paypal to automatically refund it if not claimed.
BUT whilst you may have sent it to the wrong address for that seller it could be someone else's email addy/paypal account and the payment MAY COMPLETE. In which case you would have to ask for a refund and if they don't then file for item not received via the resolution tab in your paypal account....as that account would have nothing to post you.
The seller should wait till you sort this out and not just demand a second payment.
Also if he sends you an invoice for a "gift" payment then you won't be covered by buyer protection......if in doubt don't go ahead.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
