Setup an account for my partner

My wife wants to purchase her own items through e-bay instead of through me.

When she sets up an account through Paypal, she cannot go any further.

We have a joint bank account and when she gives the card details, the setup procedure states that the card cannot be used as it is already being used. (which of course is setup with my account)

Can't find anything on paypal about this.

Any suggestions?

The only way forward is for your wife to get a bank account in her name only. As you have a joint account you can only add it to one PayPal account.

To get a fully functioning second PP account just for the wife you need a dif bank account, and either a credit card not associated with your first PP account, or a debit card attached to a new bank account.

There is no way round it sorry.

I’m afraid classy-diva is right. You can only have a bank account and card attached to one PayPal account.

If you both have a debit card from the one bank account are the numbers the same on both debit cards? Some joint accounts have different numbers on the debit cards. Maybe this might be possible with your bank account.

If not, the only option would be your wife opening a bank account in her own name.
