Hi, hoping someone can help. I've been using Paypal to pay for 100's of eBay items and never encountered this before.
I won and paid for a book on eBay - total including postage came to £4.24
The seller then contacted me claiming that I only sent them £3.90
My Paypal account states clearly that I paid the full amount. Seller says their Paypal states I paid the lesser amount.
I've asked them to send me proof, but assuming they're being honest does anyone know why this would occur?
They insist their account wasn't in arrears beforehand either.
Thanks.
Paul

Hi there moodybynature,
This sounds like your seller has just paid a fee to receive this payment.
Standard receiving fees are 3.4% + 20p so this would be right, it is a sellers responsibility to pay this fee.

Hi Siobhán,
Thanks for your reply. Do you have any idea why the seller would be charged a fee for this particular transaction? She says she's never been charged before to receive money.
Thanks again.

Hi there moodybynature,
Every payment that is received for goods has a fee involved so if she has received goods payments in the past she would have paid a fee on them.
