I can't add my bank account.

Hi,

Everytime I try to add my bank account I receive this error message:

"We were unable to process your bank account registration at this time. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again at a later date."

Talking to paypal support just provides me with generic advice on adding my account.

I know how to add the account, and I have tried the 2 different methods that support have suggested, but still it does not work.

My bank account has never been linked to another paypal account. 

If somehow paypal could tell me why I receive this error, then I could do something about it. But at the moment, the only answer I receieve is telling me how to add the account (which obviously I know how to do, else I wouldn't get as far as receiving the error!)

Any help would be great.

Hi there Jukesde,

Can I ask if you are trying to register a bank account within the UK to your UK PayPal account? Has the bank account ever been registered previously on the PayPal website? If it has, this may be where the issue is.

Can I also ask if the bank account is a current or savings account? If it is a savings account, our request to register the bank account could be getting refused by your bank. 

Another thing that you could try is to clear your temporary internet files and then restart your computer. This could also assist you in successfully registering the bank account to your PayPal account.

Thanks for your response.

I didn't think the bank account had been previously registered to paypal, but after checking an old email address I realised it had!

I removed the account from this old paypal account (3 days ago). I also deleted my temporary internet files, restarted, and tried again. It still will not add, and I receive the same error message.

It is a UK current acount, so I don't think that the issue lies there.

What can I do next?

I am getting the exact same issue. Because of consistant issues with Paypal, I ahd to reopen my Paypal account 6 months ago. Now I want to link my UK bank account and it is not possible! I need this linked ASAP for a large purchase...

Please help!

i have the same problem with trying to add a card that was previously on paypal that needed updating but i forgot and it was removed and now everytime i try to add my card to the account it says "This bank account is already registered in your PayPal account"....i only had to update the expiry date and new security code but as we all no things slip our mind.

I'm having the same issue trying to link my paypal to my payoneer account, this is what i get

My bank account its 2 weeks old, its not been register with PayPal or whatsoever before and I get this error message !!

Please help ! I need PayPal.

My bank account is with NatWest and its not savings account !

Get it sorted fast, Ive tried for the last 3 days to add a bank account to withdraw my funds and keep getting the please try again later we are unable to process your request bull**bleep**. If it dont get sorted soon I will be contacting the relevant authorties in my country.
