Chargeback

Hi, I delivered goods 2 months ago and have just received a chargeback with the funds reversed. I have provided Paypal with the Royal Mail signed for evidence, signed by the person who placed the order and it is a Paypal confirmed address. Therefore the buyer name, address and signature all match. However, I notice the invoice ID is not the same as the buyers name, they must have used someone elses credit or debit card. The chargeback was initiated by the card issuer. Will I be covered in this instance? Thanks.

Hi there AntP,

You would need to speak to PayPals's claims team to discuss specifics of a chargeback case however to respond to a chargeback complaint, please follow the instructions listed below:

1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘Resolution Centre’ near the top of the page.
3. Select ‘Open Cases’ in the ‘View’ drop down menu, go to the chargback in question, and click the ‘Respond’ button in the Action column.
4. Read the status details of the complaint and click on the ‘Resolve Chargeback Now’ button.
5. Choose the option that best applies to you.
6. Click ‘Continue’ and follow the instructions provided.

The information you provide will be sent to our chargeback department for review.

Hi Siobahn, thanks for your reply. I have done that and filed my response including evidence of the buyers signature. How do I contact your claims team? Many thanks.

Contact us bottom of paypal pages > use the call us option on the left (fees apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent.
