hi, i opened my paypal account 60 days ago. in the 1st 60 days ive had to wait 21 days before i can withdraw my money as a security thing. im fine with this as i ahe nothing to hide etc, just been selling a few bits on ebay mostly. i now have a positive feedback score of 11, and have done a couple of private sales on other websites, all with no problems at all in any way.

today is day 60, in theory tomorrow if someone pays me for somehting will i be able to withdraw the money instantly? also someone paid for something today on day 60. will i have to wait 21 days from now or tomorrow when it trips over to day 61 will the funds release? all the info on paypals site about this is really vague so id appreciate any help. thanks

Not sure where you get the 60 days from so I will put my standard reply below for paypals payment holds and see if it will help.

Why your payments are held.

• You have been selling on eBay for less than 90 days
• You have an eBay feedback score fewer than 100 as a seller and have not yet established a record of good performance
• You have received fewer than 20 Detatiled Seller Ratings on eBay in the last 12 months or your eBay seller performance is below standard
• You have a high rate of customer disputes or a low eBay feedback percentage
• You have been a PayPal member for less than 6 months and have limited selling activity
• You have a sudden change in selling activities (e.g. suddenly selling expensive items, selling large numbers of items, etc.)
• You happen to be selling in a high risk category such as tickets, travel, gift vouchers, computers, electronics, mobile phones, etc.
Depending on the circumstances, paypal may set aside payments for a single transaction or for all payments to sellers who meet the criteria above.

How can I get the payments released before 21 days.

1. If your buyer leaves feedback (pos) then funds are normally released within 48 hours of that feedback being left.
2. If you decide to send an item trackable then you can add the tracking number to the details of the paypal transaction and funds are then released when the item shows as delivered + 3 days.

What if I have met the criteria for release either earlier or at 21 days and the funds are still held.

Then you can email or phone paypal via contact us bottom of paypal pages with the transaction numbers of the items and ask them to "hurry up" and release your dosh.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I also have that 60 days requirement before I can withdraw my funds instantly.

I've completed all 3 requirements

1. Complete 5 transactions without any buyer disputes, claims, or returns.

2. Receive $100.00 in payments for goods and services.

3. Be a seller, receiving payments with PayPal, for at least 60 days, from the date you receive your first payment.

Today is the 62nd day since my first transaction.

My funds are still held.

Why is that? I've been waiting for it since Tuesday and now all my plans for tomorrow are canceled.

Someone from paypal, can you answer this?

Same here, PayPal gave me the same 3 requirements. I haven't had any dispute cases, have sold over five thousands of dollars worth of merchadise, have had over 400+ transactions. I'm even a top rated eBay seller with 100% positive feedback. It's been 77 days already and they still continue to keep my funds on hold. I spoke to PayPal over the phone last night and the person on the other end wasn't helpful at all (probably the worst person i've ever talk to over the phone, i belive he was Indian from the way he was talking). I asked why my funds were still being kept on hold even though i had already waited over 60 Days, then his response was "it's not 60 Days, it's was 21 days"...i was thinking to myself, what the **bleep** are you talking about that's not what i mean. I specifically asked him 5 or 6 times and he kept avoiding my question and he said that i needed to add tracking number right away, this and that, the same stuff that i alredy knew from the begining. Need to call again hopefully i get someone with a better understading.

I bassicaslly have it the worst because i make a living through eBay and constendly keep selling multiple items every single day and then have to pay for shipping out of my own pocket which leaves me broke with no money at all. Plus i always have to pay over $300+ in eBay fees each month which is also a huge problem for me.

The 21 day hold is forever. The 60 day requirements to release funds is bologna. I've completed requirements beyond what was needed, lost my **bleep** on items sold because of the stupid tracking number needed for faster release of funds and they still hold MY MONEY regardless. If i use a tracking number and it shows it has been delivered i get it 3 days after. Totally sucks because most items are around $3 with free shipping so unless i pay $2.50 for parcel, i don't get a tracking number. If i did it would be pointless because total payment after fee doesn't even leave $2.50 to ship with tracking. So i am stuck waiting 21 days for the rest of my ebaying because i use normal postage. I understand they want to make sure funds are there in case of buyer disputes but isn't that why a bank account must be linked. Paypal in my opinion is crazy with fees and are doing people dirty. A regular store doesn't hold my money just in case i return it. They take that ish right to the bank. Sorry for the long rant. My husband and I were just talking about this nonsense earliier today.

So after the 60 dyas are you cleared as they claim many of us willbe. I wonder what percent of sellers are still under the 21 day hold for 60 days.. I was displeased because the customer care is located in the phillipines and when I try to get things resolved I feel like they really dont care.

Yet Ebay bends over for me. It really sucks because paypal acts above Ebay with the money yet its Ebay rtransactions that made paypal. There should be another option to pay on Ebay because paypal is a monopoly and we as customers are getting treated poorly because of it.

After the 60 days the 21 day hold is lifted but paypal took longer than 60 to review my account. So basically after 60 days you are open for review. Eventually paypal reviews your account and as long as there are no negative marks on your paypal the 21 day hold is lifted unless it is a large sale. Like $550 sale and they did hold that until delivered. Paypal is just slow some days. When items have tracking you get money sooner. Items without will take 21 days to get money.

And i completely agree with you about paypal controlling things when it's ebay making them money. Just an fyi for new sellers: the 21 day hold for money until established for 60 days is for new sellers or large sales. Though it takes paypal longer to lift the 21 day hold after 60 days because they take forever to review your account. Hope this helps anyone wondering.
