I just got a new credit card as the old one is expiring soon. I don't seem to be able to enter my address in Denmark where I now live, as UK is automatically filled in, and I have now changed my address to Denmark with my bank. Is it not possible to do this? Surely you have other expats who want to maintain their accounts?

I too have this problem. I live in Greece for 6 months of the years. My main residence is in the UK,my bank is in the UK BUT the address attached to my bank account IN THE UK is my address in Greece.
I now want to attach my GREEK debit card for my account in GREECE to my Paypal account. I do not want another Paypal account. According to your own terms and conditions I can add debit/credit cards from any EU country BUT when I try to do this it defaults to the UNITED KINGDOM as the country and I am unable to change this. So, tell me please Paypal, how do I add another card (from my Greek account) to my Paypal account

9 months after and this looks like still a problem, I am leaving overseas for a while, all my UK accounts are set to my overseas address but the Paypal address cannot be updates as I cannot change the country.
A part that this might cause problems with the payments themselves and that we cannot register new cards I am pretty sure there are some legal implaction in, basically, declaring a wrong billing addess.
Can please paypal clarify what we need to do?
Do I really need to open a new Paypal account and if this the only option can I register with an overseas Paypal account and my UK bank accout as I DO NOT have any overseas bank account?!?!

It has not worked for me - when I tried to pay by the credit card they would not accept it, so I had to pay be echeque through the account - with weekends it is taking, (I hope) nearly two weeks for me to receive my goods - Meanwhile the paypal bombard me with messages about how much faster it would be if I used my credit card.
I never had this problem before, and think it must be because they have been bought by Ebay, who have always had difficulty with their international systems.

Hi,
I've had a UK card registered on PayPal for the last few years. I live in France and have done for many years. Up until last week I made payments (for goods bought outside Europe) using my UK card. Now I find it is rejected, yet still registered.
My husband says that it's fall-out from Brexit.
PayPal France seems to be nationalistic and unhelpful. So much for the global market!!

Hi, this is something very recent that PayPal has enforced in several countries.
I live in France but I also keep a UK bank account.
I registered a UK card with PayPal France a few years ago, using my French address. This card was accepted, no problem.
My UK bank has confirmed that I can make payments in any country and in any currency.
As from last week PayPal France are refusing to accept my UK card (so that I have to pay from a French bank).
I called PayPal; the person at PayPal France (based in Ireland!!) said (I translate) "You should never have been allowed to register a foreign card".
So I said "Then do you admit that PayPal France were wrong to to make payments from my British bank account using this UK card?".
She would not agree to this. Just repeated "You should not have been allowed to register an "English" card on French PayPal. From this non-committal 'excuse' I conclude that this blocking of non-French cards is a recent thing.
PayPal is no longer an international method of payment.

It would seem that Paypal is still stuck in the last century of parochialism. I have a UK account previously linked to my Paypal account that is no longer acxceptable. The UK account is there specifically for PayPal and ebay, and usually contains only a small sum, to guard against fraud. My UK banks and credit cards have no problem with my living overseas, only PayPal. Going to have to close my account at this rate and say goodbye to both PayPal and ebay. Rather pathetic in the 21st century.
