Confirming an email i don't have access to

I have 2 payments from ebay users pending but I made a mistake while entering the email address for the paypal link. I have since corrected it but I can't claim the funds. Ebay said I could just add the email address to my paypal account and the confirmation would be sent to my primary email address. I have tried several times and that does not work. I have had the buyer cancel and resend the payment but it keeps going to the unconfirmed email. help what do I do?

You're definitely on the right track to fixing this!  Don't give up yet! 

What's causing the problem is that the buyer is going back and using either the eBay invoice or the eBay checkout to send the payment - which will continue to direct the payment to the old email address.

Instead, ask the buyer for their email address and send them a money request via PayPal from your account.  If they use that link, there's no way it can go anywhere else but to you
