i have received a spoof mail from paypal, i hover over the sign in link and an altavista web address pops up,
the thing im concerned about is it actualy address's me by name, which must mean some little s**t is passing on my information to an outside source, because how else do the scammers get my name.
i sent it to the sppof mail address but some people might enter there information, because if the link is clicked it takes you to an exact copy of paypals sign in page.

Hey there,
Thank you for forwarding on the email.
How these people would get your name isn’t something we could tell, but do a virus scan on your PC to make sure there are no key loggers or anything on your computer.
Or maybe try googleing your own email address and see what comes up. It might just show your name there.

I've just received an email titled New billing address added and supposedly with a link to paypal.co.uk.
The address is:
79 Winchester Road
Northampton,Northamptonshire NN4 8AZ
UK
Looking at Google Earth, it does actually exist, but nothing to do with me.
Double checked my profile on Paypal to ensure nobody has been mucking about with my address (West Yorks) and it's fine.
Questions are:
Will Paypal read this reply?
If not, how can I contact them?
How can this happen?
TIA
Mike

I too have recieved the same email this morning. Looks like some little **bleep** is leaking our emails out or digging them up somehow from paypal.
There is no way my details are availabe in the net and there are no viruses or keyloggers on my computer...Paypal does not fill me with confidence after this.
just my opinion

Hey there,
Uhn113x, we do read the posts on here.
But if you still wants to contact PayPal you can do so by clicking the contact us link at the bottom of the PayPal website.
For both you and Nikkiy21, and anyone else that may receive one of these emails you can forward the email on to spoof@paypal.com.
Silvergrey, these email aren’t sent by PayPal. So the information in them is not coming from PayPal. I do understand your concern with them however as they use scare tactics to try and get you to go through the link without thinking and provide some personal details or passwords etc.
