Hey there,

This is a fake email and not sent from PayPal.

You can forward any emails you are unsure of to spoof@paypal.com

The 1st thing to check on an email is who it is addressed to. If it has something generic like Dear PayPal member or Hello valued customer then it definitely is not form PayPal.

PayPal will always address an email to the name on the PayPal account.

Hi there Thandizo,

Welcome to the Community!

I understand that it can be very frustrating when these emails are being received that ask you to respond and provide information through a link.

We are unable to stop these emails from being sent. These emails would be sent to thousands of people at the same time. All we can do is ask customers like yourself to forward the emails to us and we can try to prevent them from being sent in future.

The best thing to do would be to know what to look out for and how to determine if an email was a genuine email or not.

I hope this information helps.

David.
