Pay for later offered by paypal, accepted on ebay and selected but money taken from my debit card?

I was offered Pay for later today by paypal so I accepted and its my preferred payment method on paypal.

I have just added items to my basket on ebay, gone onto checkout, and pay for later was offered so I accepted that and clicked it. Checkout complete. I have just checked my bank and it has been taken directly fromy debit card.

So, its offered and used but didnt work.

Does this mean it just isnt going to work for me ever?

I really do not understand it.

Do you have your bank account linked to your paypal account?

Not your card, your bank account.

I have just checked and it says bank account confirmed, so I assume it is?

I just cant understand how it is offered as an option, I select it and I confirm it at checkout, but it takes it from my card. I have done a google search and spoken to ebay chat but they say it is there, and it isnt.

I just had a thought. The offer was made today and I had to set up direct debit, which isn't showing on my bank account as yet. Once it is showing do you think this will then work? Also, how do we find out the limit of what we can purchase?

If you don't have your bank account linked and the direct debit set up then pay after delivery won't work as it only works with a bank account.

Right, I wil try again then when I see the direct debit is set up on my online bank 🙂
