PayPal Customer Service keeps on SUCKing!

After a rotten and just down right rude Customer Support experience with PayPal  I Googled "PayPal Customer Support Sucks" and got a direct hit.  After reading many other complaints I decided to add my story to the collection.

I called PayPal Customer Service today and told them I had two of the same charges on my credit card statement made by them.

1. Cleared and Seller had received their funds.

2. Pending Charge for the same amount a day later and has been in this status for 12 days.

Mar. 12, 2018 PAYPAL xxxxxx-XXXXXX <removed> CA $xx.xx

Mar. 13, 2018 PAYPAL *Pending xxxx--XXXXX <removed> US $xx.xx

When I spoke to the Credit Card company, they said to contact the Vendor on my statement as the Pending charge they can do nothing about.

So no problem there as the phone number was listed as above.  I got somehow to a customer service rep who clearly was irritated at having to take another support call and was having a bad day as his attitude was horrible.  I explained the above problem, he opened my transactions log and did not find any second transaction as stated above.  I made it clear that both transactions were from "PayPal" on my statement and that PayPal should assist me with this problem.  He made abundantly clear he was not going to help me any further and I could jump off a bridge for all he cared.  According to him, since the transaction did not show up in the PayPal account it therefore does not exist.  (I got this same impression when using the self help side of the PayPal website too.)

I got offered from the really bad customer support guy to be transferred to "Disputes" department and I accepted, BAD CHOICE THERE on my part.  As I now was in a ENDLESS VOID in the Abyss and was never going to get my call picked up as I was on hold for an HOUR.  During this time I tried to type an email to customer support, this took about 20-30 minutes and when I clicked Submit, all my data was lost and I had a big red triangle on the page that told me that my issue could not be processed at this time and that I would need to call Customer Service.   Being that now these two avenues look like a complete loss and I was quite certain that PayPal intentionally keeps you from trying to discuss issues with them, I felt compelled to try this new phone number at least one more time.  So again I found my self in the Abyss and listening to the same recording over and over again while on hold for another 20 minutes, I gave up and went to the Resolution process.

I feel bad about having to use this process because I already contacted the Seller and confirmed we were good and the transaction between us is golden and there was only charge sent from them and money was received.  As I look at the case that has now been created, It feels like the due diligence from PayPal on this is now a he said she said game in their dispute resolution process and they just remain on the outside looking in at the two parties.  We already conversed on this subject matter.  PayPal needs to listen more and determine customers's needs based on the situation as not all problems can be handled by a "Canned Response."

JERMAIN in customer support who CLAIMS he was doing this for 12 years (obviously why he’s still in the same position) was absolutely rude and disrespectful, he did not empathize with me and his tone was condescending and nasty. When I asked for a supervisor he took nearly 15 mins to even try to transfer me. I called me husband on 3 way and even my husband said he was rude. When my husband spoke to him he became rude with him saying,”he’s not going to demand him to do anything.” When my husband told him he needed to treat me with respect and be professional. When I asked him to please just transfer me and to please stop talking to me (which I said please and I was as nice as I possibly could ) he told me I wasn’t going to “demand” him to do anything although I asked him to stop talking to me and said please. He was THAT rude that I literally had to ASK him to stop talking to me. Absolute trash employee.
