Adding a bank account dri,ving me nuts

I'm from the UK and hve been trying to add my debit card for a few days now, it keeps saying it is disabled. After contacting them by email they told me it absolutely has to be done over the phone and gave me a free number to call. However even when they're not experiencing a high volume of calls it's impossible to talk to a human, it's just an automated voice trying to add my bank account like that when it just wont work

 

Is there anyway around this?
