I have had scammers contact me through items i would have listed on Kjiji. You can always tell they are scammers because, for one thing, they never argue about the price and also they will say, i will send a shipper to pick your item up...Now they include Paypal.
They ask if you have a Paypal account and if so they want the information, reminding you that it is safe and secure..If you don't have an account they incourage you to sign up..
Ok so you have an account and you give them the information, and they send money to your account, then somebody comes and picks up the item you are selling...
The scam is ???? The only thing i can think of is the buyer claims they did not receive the item and does a charge back... what do you think the scam would be and how Paypal is handling this scam that has them involved.

Interesting.....I have a listing on Kijiji and had the very same thing happen to me today.
This person didn't even try to get a better deal from me, said he would pay what I was
asking....wanted to pay through paypal, actually insisted I accept payment through pay
pal, and instructed me on how to set up a pay pal account if I didn't already have one.
Have not heard from him since I told him the only method of payment I would consider
was certified cheque, money order, or an email money transfer. This person also stated
that he would be sending someone to pick up the item. As I received emails from him
from a couple different emails addresses, the first being very different or strange to say
the least, I have decided to make kijiji aware of this, and would suggest if anyone else
has had a similar situation happen I would suggest they contact kijiji.

Just listed a piece of furniture this morning and received a response from a possible scammer within two hours, wanting to pay me through paypal with visa and to "send my shipper" to pick up the item. This immediately raised my suspision. I've replied "only in person, only cash". Haven't heard back since. I recommend everyone be wary of this approach!

LOL!!! ME TOO!!! Like literally in the last 15 minutes....
Except mine was through buysell.com for a motorcycle. When the person offered me MORE than I asked I looked into the PayPal policy and found that line that says your money isn't protected from dispute if the person picks up. So I emailed her to tell her that and that I would be happy to work out a method of payment that was secure for both of us.
No reply. I can't believe there are people out there trolling around trying to steal my motorcycle...and your car, and your boat motor. Geesh. Glad I'm not an idiot and decided to check in the comments.
