Has anyone had a fraud case on eBay with the help of Paypal?
I bought an item on eBay and after a few days it was removed from eBay and the seller was blocked. Because I did not have any contact with the seller, I opened a dispute in Paypal. I bought another same item at the same price from another seller.
After a few days, the tracking number appeared in the PayPal transaction for the first purchased item, and after a few days the package was delivered, but I did not receive it. Paypal canceled my claim and sent money to the seller. The second purchase was exactly the same, item was not delivered and was removed from eBay. I opened a dispute in Paypal, but it was canceled by paypal because in one and the other case the tracking shows that the package was delivered. With the help of paypal, I lost almost $400, because Paypal did not refund my money, because the items were delivered. I talked with local the postman, how is it possible that I did not receive the item?
He said that it is very simple and that often scammers practice, they send a letter for $ 2 with tracking number to another person in the same town where the buyer comes from to tracking the number he showed was delivered. The USPS website does not allow you to check where the package has been delivered, but for Paypal, the "Delivered" status is enough to close the case. I think that Paypal contributes to this, thus protecting cheaters. For Paypal, the most important thing is the finalized transaction, because they take a commission, the refund is a loss for them. It was probably my last purchase on eBay. For several years they have been buying on Amazon, there is no possible buyer who has been cheated or lost money, they are really professional.
I am asking for advice someone who has had and solved a problem similar to mine.
