So i recently purchased something on Ebay, When i checked out i selected to use PayPal Guest (Use this if you dont have a paypal account. ) I used paypal guest with my Debit Visa and decided i didnt want the item so they gave me a refund. I dont know where my refund went, i have checked my bank account numerous times and i havent gotten the money. The seller told me they gave me a refund to my pay pal account. and also i got a message from pay pal saying i was refunded that money and to sign into my account, I DO have a paypal account but i NEVER use it i always use paypal guest. I signed into my original paypal account just to see and nothing, Where do i go and what do i do to get my money back !? =( Please help !

Hi!

I set up a paypal account today cause i wanted to buy a plane ticket (wanted to avoid the credit card fee). So i transfered the money from my bank account (from my debit card attached to my bank account) into my paypal. It went smoothly and within minutes i had money on my new paypal account.
For some reason i was unable to purchase the plane ticket with my paypal so i wanted to return the money back into my bank account via my debit card. So i clicked "issue refund" in my paypal account and within a minute my paypal balance was back to zero, but the money isnt showing up in my bank account. I guess im nervous cause i was expecting an almost immediate refund. How long does this process take? I understand it's Sunday and the refund probably wont show up in my bank account today, but can i relax and have assurance that it will eventually go back to my bank account? Is this what it normally looks like?

hey u Senka. I am sure it will turn up in your account BUT they take an age to get money transferred. I feel the service is quite appalling... It ought, in my opinion to be instant transfer (why not?) Dont  panic, it will come into your account.. but definitly not user supportive or friendly to withdraw from paypal into your account.. Amazing how the bank transfer gets the money in (as you experienced) instantly - where as paypal cant do the same.. Ringing them up doesnt help either - well it didnt help me! But my money did get into my account... Hope that puts your mind at ease a bit.. x

How long did you have to wait for the money to show up in your bank account?
Is there a difference between returning the money by "issue refund" or by "withdraw". Because it was my first time dealing with something like this and i just clicked "issue refund".
Just to make it clear -  the transactions in question are between my paypal and my bank account.

ps. when i click to see the details of the refund transaction, the subject of the transaction is "you have send $xxxx to Blue Media SA with PayPal". (Blue Media SA is the company dealing with Paypay transactions for my country). Does this mean Blue Media SA is holding my money hostage and they are the ones who are going to put it back into my bank account?

Withdraw - is the quickest and takes about three days.. max four... What I did was ask /request speedy withdrawal assuming it would be quick.. and THAT ended up taking about ten days!!! 😞 - I am not familar with issue refund.. but I would think? it means something to do with a dispute??? (NOT sure on this) in which case it will take longer.. This is the number to ring.. 08707-307191 - sorry to not be more help x

Crap. I didnt do the Withdraw cause i didnt know that's how you do it. I assumed automatically that issuing a refund means returning the money where it came from (my bank account).

When i look up the details of the refund transaction, it say my paypal paid in full some company Blue Media SA (that's the company dealing with paypal transactions for my country - Poland). Does this mean this company is keeping my money at this point and theyre responsible for putting it back into my account?

I dont know... either someone else will need to respond to your enquirey, or (if it were me) I would ring the number I gave you... they are easy to understand.. but their policies are far from customer friendly (at times) good luck with it..I would be feeling peed off too !!

Ruth, thanks for your help. The number you have given isnt active or doesnt exist. Probably because it is a number for US customers.  Hopefully someone else will know more and write back.

i am extremely upset i had $1,000 deposited into my paypal as a gift and i was charged a fee just to get it, i clicked on refund thinking i was going to get them to refund that fee, yet they refunded the $1,000 back, yet the sender says they did not even get that refund and its been taken from their account already , paypals answer was to have that person resend it to me but they cant as paypal still has those funds they have NOT in fact refunded it yet. so how in the world are they supposed to resend it to me. i told paypal to cancel the refund and put the $1,000 back into my account with that fee waived and i know in fact they can do that, but they wont respond i needed those funds TODAY to pay my rent as i have a young disabled son and if i dont pay rent today and car payment we will be in huge bind, yet paypal doesnt seem to care as i know for fact they can easily cancel that refund seeing i am almost blind and hit the refund only thinking i was hitting that refund to get that fee waived not the whole $1,000, paypal is sitting on those funds now refusing to put them back into my account and in fact the person who sent them told me their bank said they did not get it refunded at all so paypal is just sitting on the funds . i plan to file a report with the attorney generals office and the better business bureau and also plan to contact every site i can to complain about this when in this computer age its so easy to just cancel that refund and put those funds back in my account, seeing they say the refund was completed when in fact thats a lie. they have not refunded it at all. so put it back into my account and let me pay my rent today and my car payment jeez. i cant believe this unprofessinalism here in this computer age of technology.

Hi there i just bought an item on ebay through a bank transfer with paypal and received this message from the seller about an hour later

Dear friend, I'm an honest seller, Because there is a little problem with my paypal account, paypal asked me to refunded the payment to you just now. please your paypal, hope you can understanding that. and I had sent a new invoice to you just now, please check it, if you still want this top quality belt, you can pay for it, and I will post your item within 12 hours and tell you tracking number and mark your item paid on ebay. thank you for your understanding and help, wishes you and your family all good in 2013. I look forward to hearing from you.
best wishes

I checked my paypal account and even though the transaction said it was refunded my balance still said £0.00.

They had also sent me another invoice to send the same amount again but Im unsure whether  to go through with this incase it is a scam. Surely the money would show on my paypal balance if i was truely refunded?
