I hope this has been posted to the right board:
I have never heard of Xoom.com until today when I received an alert from my bank that a transaction on my bank debit card by Xoom.com caused my account to be overdrawn. The money was taken, then the charges were reversed and the money put back into my account but it still left me with overdraft fees. How did they get access to my bank debit card number? It is a card linked to my PayPal account and I read that Xoom.com is affiliated with PayPal.
Has anyone had any similiar experiences of this nature with Xoom.com?

Was your saving account information linked to your paypal account? If so PayPal has a serious security problem. I wonder how many other people have had a problem with unauthorized withdrawls thru xoom.com

I had the exact same problem. I just noticed three separate withdrawals from my SAVINGS account for $127.99. I called my bank to report the fraud. I have no idea how this could have happened, but I'm almost happy to see that it is a known issue.

My bank account was. I think this was a PayPal breach. I'm not a member of xoom.com and I don't have my account linked in other places. I just removed it from paypal out of fear this would happen again. It's a shame, too. I always trusted PayPal.

They got me at 1:51am. I don't even have a Xoom account... never heard of them until now. This is ridiculous.

I had the same experience as others on this chain. I had never heard of xoom.com until today when my bank called me and brought to my attention that they found two suspicious charges from xoom.com San Francisco ($24.99 and $54.99). How in the world did they get my account information Paypal?

Hello everyone,
Thanks for reaching out to the PayPal Community forums about this issue. I'm sorry to hear about these unrecognized Xoom transactions. I know how alarming seeing a payment you don't recognize can be.
Xoom is a PayPal owned service which allows our customers to send international payments. A customer can log into the Xoom website with their PayPal login information and make a Xoom transfer. If a Xoom transfer has taken place without your authorization, this means that someone may have compromised your PayPal password and that you should change that information as soon as possible to resecure your account.
Unauthorized Xoom payments must be disputed with Xoom directly since they don't appear in your PayPal account history.
Here is a link to the FAQ site for Xoom and how to reach their customer service: https://www.xoom.com/marketing/paypal.
