I was scammed and PayPal found in favor of the scammer.

A few months ago, I purchased 3 virtual items from a game server.

After a long time of trying to get in contact with the seller, I disputed the purchase.

The seller claimed they are not associated with the organiztion I had purchased the items from and threatened legal action if I filed a claim against them.

After I submitted my claim, he provided "tracking information".

In my experience, you can not have tracking information for a digital good.

PayPal allowed the scammer to keep $100 of my money even though the seller admitted he was not part of the organiztion I had bought the items from.

I have 2 questions:

I heard PayPal was supposed to be awesome with their customer protection, but they let me get scammed for $100 by someone who openly admitted he was not part of the organization and could not give me my items. Why would they let me get scammed?

Why did they close the case and not let me either a) see the evidence or b) dispute the evidence with MY OWN evidence?

you cannot get your item back as unauthorised transaction means someone use my account to buy, which means he does not have the item.

so this is an Ebay transaction, wonder if you should look into Ebay seller protection.

just sending you an email saying this is suspicous ?what good does it do?

next time, dont call Paypal, call Ebay and ask.

you can always refund the payment if you dont like what you hear.

And yes they charged me 20$ with charge back .. so I guess this is the seller protection that PayPal offer. Even I sent them all the proof that they asked me for ..

Did the PayPal transaction detail specifically indicate "OK to ship"?

Did you ship to the address on the PayPal transaction detail page?

It was a computer part The orgin and destination is US I added the track number and it was USPS The transaction happened in sept. 2016 and the buyer opened the case in January PayPal they know that the guy he is scammer but since he used his bank , pay pal can't do anything with that because the decision for the bank. Seller protection is pull... the PayPal guy told me that the most that he can do is to send the buyer email!! And he said if he doesn't respond .. very much I lost my item. What's bug me the most is that they sent my account to collection because my account went negative after they returned the money to the buyer even before the case close. I asked for appeal and they told me they can't appeal it ... so it's just a pull **bleep**.
