Received an email from PayPal stating that because I had not used PayPal in awhile an update to my account was needed. The PP logo looked authentic. However, I use PP a lot and was surprised by request.
I complied and submitted info. Later, the same day 9/10, got a call from the fraud dept. at my bank where a purchase had been tried using my banking info I had updated on the request. Fortunately, the fraud dept caught in time.
Have others experienced same?
Tks.

When you get a Paypal email, always check the email address ,it should have paypal.com ,THEN dont click on any clickable link, type in 'www.paypal dot com' and log into your account.
crooks are getting better and better, they will ask you for your Paypal email address and then send you a fake email from Paypal, addressing you by your name .
If you use your cell phone to download APP,you could be downloading malware which overlay the APP you used to access bank account, password to places you frequent, this is how they steal your bank account information, pass word ,SS etc.

You didn't post the email address; they would be another clear sign it is not from PayPal.
