Opening a Dispute?

I purchased an item from someone on 6/5/16 and haven't received it. The person has disappeared and doesn't respond to emails, messages, etc. When I purchased the item, I didn't have a paypal account and was in a hurry, so I checked out as a guest. I have since created an account. When I go to file a dispute, that purchase is on my list of transactions, but I'm not able to select it. If I click continue without selecting a transaction, I'm not able to  select the "problem with an item I purchased" option either. How do I file a dispute for this transaction?? Thank you!

You can still open a dispute but as you paid as a guest payer you have to contact customer services and they will open one for you................this is because any transactions you made before you opened your account won't show on that account.

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".

Why would they do that if they can file a paypal dispute quite easily??

Apart from the fact they may not have funded their paypal payment via a card.

I would save that option in case for whatever reason the paypal dispute fails but its unlikely if it was an item not received dispute.

I just dealt with the exact same situation.  I submitted an email to customer service via the system.  If I don't get response in a timely manner then I will call them.

I'm saving the credit card issuer route for my last resort....I want the products I ordered but like you the seller has gone MIA since the charge cleared my account.

This is first time i've encountered this so kinda shocked at how some sellers run a business.  I'll also be reporting them to the better business bureau if I don't get some resolution as this is unacceptable to treat buyer this way.

Good luck to you in your dispute.

Emailing them is pretty much a waste of time.

Your best bet is to call them OR >>

have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

Ok good to know on the email thing.  I'll put a call in tomorrow and get the ball rolling.

I'm not on facebook or twitter.

Thank you for your advice!
