So, I saw a hockey card on ebay I was interested in, and the seller had it in a 3 card lot for an absurd amount of money for 'Buy It Now'. After the auction ended with no bids or buyers, I messaged him to buy just the one card from the lot, and he agreed. We discussed and agreed on a price, and I sent him 3 payments over the course of a few months totalling half the amount we agreed on. I would message him before I send each payment and he always replied....until recently, I sent him a text message, as we exchanged info and what not, as I was buying the card not through eBay buy sending paypal payments, and now he hasn't replied to any messages in 4 days. I've sent him a text everyday asking what's going on, and nothing! I don't know what to do from here? I know his name and number and he's from calgary. Do I contact paypal? The police? I don't know, I just want my money back. Thank you to anyone with information in advance! Sincerely, Nick

You have up to 180 days in the US to file for item not received on paypal BUT as you paid in "installments" you may well not be covered as for buyer protection you have to pay in one installment.

Also as you did not pay a money request OR an invoice then your seller could send you anything and it would be difficult for you to argue it was the wrong thing if there is no description on the invoice or no auction that paypal can refer to.

You can go ahead and try but don't really rate your chances and you can only do that if you sent using the goods option and not a personal payment ie family / friends.

If you funded those payments via a card then your card issuer may help you.
