Dispute claim/refund- only some refunded.

Okay so i bought digital goods from a game i was playing. But because the game has issues like lag, disconnections every now and then, usually 2-4 times an hour, i decided it's not worth playing anymore. I have many small transaction i made to that game, about 15 of them but after the dispute ended, i only got refunded 5 of them. So here i'm curios as to why i wasn't refunded all 15 but only 5 of them? The transaction were all made in mid June. Other than unstable server game issues, the company itself isn't even helpful towards their players. I email them and never got a reply in a week but when i finally got a reply it's because of paypal, then they told me to cancel the dispute or my account will get banned.

Without knowing the details of EACH transaction and dispute there is no way to figure out why they weren't refunded.  If you provided details for each it might be possible to help or you could just phone PayPal customer service and ask.

Did you cancel the other disputes with the seller?  If you did, then there would be no more refunds.

By filing many disputes with PayPal you also risk your PayPal acocunt being limited.

It's a risky business with virtual items.

You said you bought 15 ,could it be you did get something out of these games.

so you get a partial refund.

did you read the company's return /refund policy?

The game was new, i played on their first server. There was still lag and disconnection going on during the first week so i let it slide. That's the time where i did 2-3 transaction per day for their event, thinking i might stay and thinking they will fix the server issue. After that week, we tried to contact their support about the issue and if it will be fixed because the issue with the server has gotten worse even with the decline in players, but we got no respond in almost a week from there. Thier newer servers have no server problem, it's mostly their older ones. They're releasing a new server everyday and neglecting the issues the older servers are having. Due to this, my friends and i decided the game isn't worth play and they got their full refund through paypal and told me to do the same.

And no i never cancel'ed the dispute claim, i just waited for paypal to handle it. However during the time where the dispute was pending, i finally got an email which i stated before that they told me to drop the dispute or i get banned. I email them the reason why i wanted a refund. I replied back why i wanted the refund and they replied back saying they got an update and the server should be running more smoothly now. I logged back in yesterday since i need some screenshots of the server error as proof(which paypal asked me, since apparently one of my trans isnt finished yet but the rest is done). Anyway i logged back in and the server is still unstable and hard to play.

I know it's risky when it comes to virtual/digital goods. However my main reason for refund wasn't the goods but more or less i am unable to play and they are not helping their players. I pretty much didn't get what i paid for.

The game company doesnt have any return policy. In the paypal transaction, the seller(Gate2Shop) is different from the game company, i guess you can think of the seller similar to paypal, a 3d party? When i tried to contact the seller(G2S) 2 times they keep telling me to contact the game company regardging the refund. But when i file a dispute claim, the game company keeps telling me to cancel the dispute and tell G2S when i did..

I tried to figue out what happened.  Here are the details as I understand.

You purchased a virtual game; it didn't work as expected.  (your story details are not relevant.)

Game seller would not refund.

You filed a dispute with PayPal, although you haven't explained the basis of the dispute.

You haven't provided any information about PayPal's response to the dispute.

Game requested dispute cancellaation; you declined.

Game seller provided update.  This indicates to me that you are not really sure about your dispute.  Either you push for the refund through Paypal or believe the promises from the game seller.  If you really want PayPal involvement, the push for that.

What is happening with PayPal?

If you want PayPal to resolve the dispute, then stop dealling witht he game seller.

What do you really want to happen?

Don't need to contact anyone else.  Just the folks (Gate2Shop) who you paid the money to get a refund.  I take it the dispute has been escalated for PayPal to decide.  Leave it like that.  PayPal's bound to make a decision.  If the game does not function correctly and no longer worth having the account, let them ban or cancel it.  It's best that they refund now or deal with a chargeback which will tag on extra fees for the seller per transaction.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
