Difficulty Resolving Account Limitation

Yesterday, I wanted to determine the highest amount I can send in a personal transaction, so I entered various amounts, alternating between high and low, to try to determine the exact number. After clicking "Continue" at around $800-$1200 (curiously, the amount varied) I noticed the site would either stop loading or tell me the process couldn't be completed. I did this probably around twenty times without once completing the process, since I didn't need to send money to anyone and was just curious.

I didn't realize this would be seen as suspicious activity since I wasn't actually sending any money, but after the last time I clicked "Continue," the site said my account was limited, and that I needed to 1) verify the two credit cards on my account, and 2) confirm my identity. I completed the second instruction via text, and it's listed as being complete. However, despite entering my credit card details multiple times per card, the first step stills shows as "awaiting response." The site says small withdrawals will be made and that I'll have to confirm them, but I haven't seen any yet. When should I expect them? I would like to resolve this today. I spent two hours on hold on the helpline yesterday, with no answer.

Amazing! After waiting two hours yesterday and forty minutes today on the main line, I noticed the 1-866-528-3733 number for the PayPal Credit helpline posted by a moderator in another thread, and tried that. I did not have to wait at all, and the first person who answered transferred me to someone who was able to restore my account in five minutes, an astounding difference from three hours wasted on the main line. Both of them spoke perfect English and had no difficulty understanding my request, either. I give the PayPal helpline a 0/10 and the PayPal Credit helpline a 10/10!

For anyone not getting through on the main line, try the PayPal Credit line!

You can't rush the resolution process.  It will take time for PayPal to conduct an investigation after you submit the information.

Continued attempts with the credit card information submission may also look suspicious and require more PayPal investigation.

Does your online credit card information show anything related to the small amounts?

No, I don't see the microcharges yet.

I emailed PayPal yesterday and they did not respond within 24 hours as they said they would, so I emailed them again. I'm also calling the helpline again, though I doubt I'll be able to speak to anyone since I waited two hours yesterday and was not acknowledged, which is ridiculous. Roughly how long do you think the resolution process will take? Days? Weeks? I have an eBay purchase I need to pay for and was planning to use PayPal Credit. I've never had a problem with PayPal before, but now I don't know if my case is even being actively reviewed. The charges still have not appeared for me to verify (and there's no indication of where I would go to verify them, anyway). I could submit any required information (Social Security number, scan of my identification, et cetera) right away if I would simply be acknowledged.

LOL! You are correct. I edited my post to correct the error. The main PayPal number begins with 888, but the PayPal Credit number doesn't.
