If I initiate a refund through ebay will paypal try to take the funds from my bank?

Two separate questions:

The first is that I have a bank account on my paypal that I have not had access to for many years. It was shared with my husband, now my ex-husband. I really shouldn't have it on there anymore, but every time I try to remove it, I get an error saying it can't be done and to try again later. I've sent several emails to support about this and nothing gets resolved. I don't know what to do!

The second is that because of a lost package I have to resolve an ebay complaint by refuding a payment of about $400. Because the dispute was opened my paypal is in the negative by nearly that amount. I currently don't have the funds in my bank account to cover that, and I won't until Friday. If I go ahead and grant the refund in ebay through the dispute, will paypal attempt to debit my bank account for the funds? Or will I be able to manually go in on Friday and take care of it on my end?

When the dispute was opened, PayPal automatically fronted the $400 for, let's call it, the refund hold pot, since you had no money in your PayPal account, and put your  account in the hole for nearly that amount.  You can issue refund within the dispute to release the money in the hold to the buyer and come Friday when you have money in your bank, you can add money to PayPal Balance or pay with your bank to zero out your negative balance.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
